BurnShare is designed with privacy at its core. We collect the absolute minimum amount of information necessary to operate the service. We do not require accounts, do not track you across the web, and do not sell or share your data with anyone.
IP Addresses: We temporarily store your IP address for the sole purpose of enforcing upload rate limits (3 uploads per 24 hours). This data is stored in our rate-limiting system with a 24-hour time-to-live and is automatically deleted after that period.
File Metadata: When you upload a file, we store the file name, size, MIME type, and expiry settings. This metadata is automatically deleted when the file expires or is burned after download.
Uploaded files are stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 with encryption in transit. Files are automatically and permanently deleted based on your chosen expiry settings -- either after the first download (burn-on-download) or after the time limit you selected (maximum 24 hours). We do not access, read, scan, or analyze the contents of your files.
We use the following third-party services to operate BurnShare:
We do not share your data with any other third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.
No data is retained beyond these periods. There are no backups of deleted files.
Since we do not collect personal information or maintain user accounts, there is no personal data to request, modify, or delete. Files and their metadata are automatically purged per the expiry settings you choose at upload time.
BurnShare is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of BurnShare constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, please reach out via the contact information on our website.
